Mattea Mitchell serves as the Director of Community and Economic Development at the Purchase Area Development District in Mayfield, Kentucky. A graduate of Murray State University with a master’s degree in agriculture science, Mitchell has spent the past decade engaged in advancing community and economic growth throughout Western Kentucky.
A lifelong resident of Clinton, Kentucky, she lives with her husband and three children and remains committed to strengthening the region she calls home. Mitchell is involved with the WAVE Ag Committee, the Hickman County Industrial Development Authority, the Fulton-Hickman Economic Development Partnership, West Kentucky Regional Chamber Alliance, and the SkillRise270 Advisory Board.
In her role with SkillRise270, she and other PADD project administrators provide financial oversight and guidance on facility construction as the project’s grant administrator. She envisions SkillRise270 as a hub for innovation and entrepreneurship, creating pathways for new opportunities and sustainable growth across the Purchase Area region.
Mitchell remains focused on advancing the long-term sustainability and resilience of rural communities across the region.
